Dagupan City

The Paradise Philippines is well known throughout the world for its natural beauty. An archipelago composing of 7, 107 islands and islets, it’s not hard to imagine the numerous natural wonders and beautiful places Paradise Philippines has.

But this country is well known not only for such places. Along with the beautiful places where people flock to is the variety of food in the country. But these foods are delectable not only to the Filipino people but to foreigners as well. Some of the Filipino dishes are world-class.

A good example of this is the milkfish of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. The milkfish, or bangus in Filipino, is abundant in the country. The fish can be cooked in numerous ways, depending on the region and taste of the locals. But what makes this kind of fish being grown in the city of Dagupan is its tastiness. It has long been observed by many that Dagupan Bangus tastes better than those grown in the other parts of the country.

And to add more to its fame, the Bangus Festival was launched in the summer of 2003. It was held with two purposes in mind: 1. To make Dagupan City, together with its main produce, namely milkfish, world-famous by breaking the Guinness World Record for longest barbecue at that time, and; 2. To promote the city’s main product, the milkfish. And since then, the Bangus Festival became an annual event, as people not only in the nearby towns but also from faraway places come to join the celebration of the world’s tastiest milkfish.

The Dagupan bangus is just one way of saying that; here in Paradise Philippines one can expect more than just beautiful places of Nature. The food in this particular country is of the same level as its wondrous sights – breathtaking and satisfying.
